Dear English 110 Students;

When I started this class I had no idea how to do Rhetoric Analizing Project. It was hard for me at the begining because I came from an ESL high school student to College English for the first time. I struggled sometimes, but I had to work it out with the teacher. My teacher was helpful, when I had question she'll answer me in a best way that she could help me. Eventhough I didn't do well at the beginning I tried my best to read the assignments well untill I understood what I needed to do to figure out the solution for my struggleness. For example when I was trying to write about my culture I kind misunderstood what the teacher had asked me , I kept giving information that I don't need to give. Also I had a hard time using MLA citation website, but at the end it worked out.I turned in all my assignments on time, never late from the day it's due.I would encourge you to carefully read your assignments, follow the directions of the your class materials and if you are having a hard time ask help from your teacher.  Don't wait to turn your class work at the last mintute, also turn in your assignments on time in order to get better grades!

"What is Islam?”  is the question you ask.

Answering this question is every Muslims task.
Describing Islam can be a lot,
But first I’ll tell you what Islam is not.
Islam is not Faraqan and terrorism.
Nor is it oppressing women and racism.
Islam doesn’t teach these things.
On the contrary it forbids them.Islam isn’t focused on selling news papers and bean pies. It’s not about drinking goats milk and having many wives. Most people think Islam is just a religion. But, it is actually a detailed way of living, prescribed by Allah, the merciful, the forgiving. Peace, submission, and morality, Respect, kindness and charity. And worshipping one God, the All Mighty, This is Islam. It demolishes the cloudiness and confusion in our brains. Faith in God is one thing Islam sustains. It makes clear our purpose of life, beginning and end. People take our wealth and freedom, but our faith we must defend.

For my project i'm thinking of including some videos in it.Because sometimes i watch youtube videos. I picked this video because it's kinda interesting for the people who don't know my culture to see it. This video is about people singing and doing their culture dance dramatically in front of a lots people. Especailly i chose it to show the audience a piece evidence of my culture. Iinstead of just me explaining without showing any picuters or videos.I'll be trying my best to give my audience whatever i can to explain about my culture. And hopefully my audience will work with me.

My topic will still be about how Somali  culture and the tradition differ from western countries. My audience will be the people who i work with. I chose them because they have no idea about it. So i'm trying to make them learn and see what they well say. My purpose of choosing this project is to give the audience and the people who are reading my paper to understand what my culture is about , and how it communicates with the world. I'm gone be using some pictures to explain what is about ,weather its food or people dancing to help the audience understand better instead of just telling them without looking at something excited. Also i'll be using some Survey of questions to ask my audience what they learned from my ideas of my project.

I guess as far as State Fairs go, the Ohio State Fair is pretty good. I'm not much of a fair-going person, so I really can't give it too high of a rating. The fair all kinda has that distinct smell of fried food and barns. Again, not my thing. And be warned. Since it's right smack in the middle of the summer it can get really hot and miserable. Especially when you factor in that Ohio humidity. Try to go on a cooler day. I know last summer we had a chain of sunny 80-something degree days when I was there. Not cool; no pun intended. The buildings can be somewhat cool, at least in the fact that there's shade, but most are not air conditioned.

I think that some people might be interested in my RAP and some may not. But the people who have never heared about Somali culture and never seen it would like it. I want the audience to unerstand how the culture differ from the western countries. And how they communicate plus their culture based on their religion. So hopefully the audience will understand it.

I'm writing about Somali weddings and culture for my RAP. I'm using how Somali wedding, culture differ from western countris article to suport my primary text.Engulfed by decades of civil strife, Somalia, located in the heart of Horn of African, has seen almost half of its seven million population scattered across the globe with most ending up in the western world. Somalis are Muslims and most of their culture comes from their religion. Traditional weddings are part of their lives but the trends on how they conduct the ceremonies have changed. The picture on the left are Somali women dancing in Somali  Traditional Wedding in Nairobi,Kenya.“Weddings are very important occasions for Somali communities where ever they are in the world”.

To keep the audience engaged a writer needs to explain what he/she is responding to. When writing about a summary the person must suspend themselves from their beliefs for a time and put themselves in the shoe of someone else. Many writers make a  host of mistakes when it comes to quoting.

Traditional Somali Wedding

On this picture when they play the drum, the women dances.

In the Typical somali wedding, there is a islamic Nikaah and men are likely given their own sort of nikah party (that means given money from the groom and loads of food). Sometimes people hold the ceremony in homes inviting a sheikh/imaam to do the neccesary ritual stuff , and the women wait in another room until someone tells them when the rituals have been completed. Then the grooms family hand over the dowry to someone of the brides family and give money to everybody in the place. And then one of the men takes some money and gives it all to the women and kids . After loads of eating of halwa and traiditional sweets and food they all go away. Some families rent a hotel or a hall and hold a party and some don't. Some people throw their wedding party obviously after their nikaah , this is a big occasion for the bride. She wears a white wedding dress, and then later changes maybe to a dirac a somali dress and then a really traditional thing later a guntiino (looks sorta like a sari but its always red) .They get their hair done and decorate their arms and feet with Henna and the bride will be wearing lots of gold because people in my country love to wear gold. The party will be in a hotel decorated and everything food will come from a resturaunt and their is Music, hired people to sing. Sometimes weddings are "segregated" there is no men there ,but the singer is a man and so is the camera man and the groom might be there and some of the brides brothers and people. So not very segregated.I was invited i would cover if it's not "segregated" . I prefer the wedding not to be mixed. At the wedding there is a traditional thing called "baranbur" done it's a fun sort of dance percussion that is used and it's like someone singing poetry which praises the bride and the groom and their families. And then there is dancing to normal "pop" somali music and "Niiko".Depending on where from somalia the brides family are ,there might be other dancing techniques, it's a lot of fun because everyone comes to celebrate this happy day.

''My first blog''

I have lived in Damascus for 7years. I like their schools because girls and boys were not taking same schools together. I had a lot of fun when i was there. I used to play soccer, that's why i,m fan of the world soccer-cup. I liked going to that mall on the picuter above. Its fun being there, especially when your with friends and family.Damascus has an enormous number of historical sites dating to many periods of the city’s history. Since the city has been built up with every occupation, it has become almost impossible to excavate all the ruins that lie up to 8 feet below the modern street level. In spite of being called part of the “axis of evil,” and tourists are few, Damascus may be one of the friendliest places one can visit with taxi drivers inviting visitors into their homes for glasses of tea and passers-by yelling “you are welcome here.” Damascus has all the amenities of any large city including excellent restaurants serving Mideastern and European style food, shopping in traditional souks and modern malls, one of the world’s great museums, the Syrian National Museum, and even a moderate night life. Visitors have described Damascus in many different ways. But whatever words one chooses, there is little doubt that Damascus leaves a mark on the soul and imagination. Damascus becomes more than just another city, Damascus becomes a friend.
